  • White Settlers wanted to take more of Native American lands, and so surrounded the Lakota Tribe demanding the already reduced land.
  • Sitting Bull gave up his fleeing in order to give his tribe refuge in Canada.
  • The Lakota Tribe were all surrounded; men, women, and children, were not given mercy.
  • Chief Joseph took in the tribes of Crazy Horse and Sitting bull
