Cities Blog

City Growth is caused by the expansion of immigrants into certain cities, innovations and advancement also helped forward these cities. Mass production of everyday household objects helped supply citizens with work, booming industrial cities.

Advancements to Cities

James Oliver's Chilled Plow allowed the mass production of food, supplying workers.

Henry Bessemer's mass production of steel,  allowed the price reduction of steel.
Promotory Point, where the east and west railroads connect, creating a path way for the manufactured goods to cross.

Challenges in the Cities

Overcrowded cities in the 1850's created unsanitary conditions.
Unsanitary conditions in New York City caused major growth of diseases.

Barbed wires prevented the migration of cattle, which provided meat to the workers.

Hear thy hear they make way for thy
All shall stand so it can be see.
Ram the gates, so all can cheer
After the war, let's all have a beer.
Strengthen the muscles before we walk,
The Lord calls all for a talk.
The fate is held on a dime,
The battle starts on a chime.
The pawn with the crown is chased,
The war ends when he is in their base.

Native American Name

Zephyr Panda

Zephyr Panda means "The West Wind Panda." I choose this name because it means how I can flow along with problems that face my way. Seeing that I am easy going and follow whatever is in the lead, just like the wind. Panda shows the nationality in me, knowing where my heredity comes from. Panda is a symbol of China, showing the Chinese ancestry. Since I'm able to flow along with others, that means I'm able to have very high patience. The name Zephyr Panda fits me well since it follows along with my personality.
